Trading Plan Development — Complete Guide
Build a professional trading plan. Learn all essential components: strategy rules, risk parameters, routine, journaling framework, and performance review process.
Why You Need a Trading Plan
A trading plan is a written document that defines every aspect of your trading approach. Without one, you're making emotional decisions that lead to inconsistent results. With one, you have a roadmap that removes emotion and guides consistent execution.
The Hard Truth
95% of traders who fail have no written plan. Of the 5% who succeed, nearly all follow a documented strategy religiously. Your plan is your edge — without it, you're gambling.
Essential Components
1. Market Selection
- Which markets will you trade? (Forex, Crypto, Stocks)
- Which specific instruments? (EUR/USD, Gold, BTC)
- Why these markets? (Liquidity, volatility, familiarity)
- Maximum number of markets to watch
2. Trading Style & Timeframe
- Style: Scalping, Day Trading, Swing Trading, Position
- Primary timeframe for entries (M15, H1, H4, D1)
