Advanced SMC Execution Models — Complete Guide
Master advanced execution in SMC: Risk Entry, Confirmation Entry, Refined Entry with optimal R:R and when to use each.
SMC Execution Models
Execution models determine HOW you enter a trade once you've identified your POI. The model you choose affects your R:R, win rate, and whether you catch the move.
The Three Models
1. Risk Entry (Limit Order at POI)
- Place limit order directly at OB/FVG
- No confirmation needed
- Best R:R (1:4 to 1:8)
- Win rate: ~40-50%
- Use when: A+ setup, maximum confluence
- Risk: May get swept before reversal
2. Confirmation Entry (LTF CHOCH)
- Wait for LTF structural shift at POI
- Enter after CHOCH confirmation
- Moderate R:R (1:2 to 1:4)
- Win rate: ~55-65%
- Use when: Standard setups, moderate confidence
- Risk: May miss fast moves, wider stop
3. Refined Entry (FVG within CHOCH)
- Wait for LTF CHOCH, then enter at FVG/OB
created BY the CHOCH
- Best of both worlds
- R:R: 1:3 to 1:6
- Win rate: ~50-60%
- Use when: You want precision + confirmation
- Requires patience and skill
When to Use Each
| Situation | Model | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Perfect A+ confluence | Risk Entry | Maximum R:R, trust zone |
| Good setup, want safety | Confirmation | Higher win rate |
| Want precision | Refined | Best balance |
| Counter-trend | Confirmation/Refined | Need extra proof |
| Scalping | Risk/Confirmation | Speed matters |
Stacking Models
Advanced: Use multiple entries on same setup
1st Entry: Risk Entry (small size) at OB
2nd Entry: Confirmation (add size) after CHOCH
3rd Entry: Refined (add more) at FVG retest
Result: Average entry price in premium zone
with progressively confirmed bias
