Session Liquidity in SMC — Complete Guide
Master session-based liquidity. Learn how sessions target previous session's H/L and use PDH/PDL as draw on liquidity.
What is Session Liquidity?
Session Liquidity refers to the previous session's highs and lows acting as liquidity targets for the next session. In SMC, each new session seeks to take the liquidity left by the previous one.
Key Session Liquidity Levels
| Level | Abbreviation | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Previous Day High | PDH | Major BSL target |
| Previous Day Low | PDL | Major SSL target |
| Previous Week High | PWH | Weekly BSL target |
| Previous Week Low | PWL | Weekly SSL target |
| Asian Session High | ASH | London target |
| Asian Session Low | ASL | London target |
How Sessions Target Liquidity
The Liquidity Chain:
1. Asian session creates a range (ASH/ASL)
2. London sweeps Asian H or L (takes liquidity)
3. London creates its own H/L
4. NY may continue or sweep London's H/L
5. Next day: PDH/PDL become new targets
Daily Cycle:
PDL/PDH → Today's target
ASH/ASL → London's target
London H/L → NY's target
Trading Session Liquidity
Strategy: PDH/PDL as Draw on Liquidity
1. Identify daily bias (bullish or bearish)
2. If bullish: PDH is the draw (target above)
3. If bearish: PDL is the draw (target below)
4. Look for entries at discount (bullish) or premium (bearish)
5. Target: PDH/PDL as take profit
Example (Bullish Day):
- Yesterday's high = 1.1050 (PDH)
- Price currently at 1.1000
- Daily bias: Bullish
- Entry: OB pullback at 1.0980
- Target: PDH at 1.1050
