ICT Silver Bullet
Master the ICT Silver Bullet — a time-specific execution model using precise windows for FVG entries. Learn the 10AM, 2PM, and 3AM Silver Bullet setups.
What is the Silver Bullet?
The Silver Bullet is a time-specific execution model that identifies FVG entries within narrow time windows. ICT teaches that the algorithm creates displacement during these specific hours, leaving behind tradeable FVGs.
The Silver Bullet reduces your screen time to just 1 hour per session. You only need to watch during the specific window and take the FVG that forms.

How to Trade the Silver Bullet
Step-by-Step Process
- Determine Daily Bias — You MUST have directional conviction first
- Wait for the Silver Bullet window to open
- Look for displacement — Strong candle creating an FVG during the window
- Mark the FVG created during displacement
- Enter — Limit order at the FVG (CE for precision)
- Stop Loss — Beyond the swing point that created the displacement
- Target — Next liquidity pool in the direction of bias
Rules
- The FVG MUST form within the Silver Bullet time window
- Displacement must be in the direction of your Daily Bias
- Only take ONE Silver Bullet per session (the first valid one)
- If no FVG forms during the window → no trade (stand aside)
Real Examples
Example 1: NY AM Silver Bullet — EUR/USD Buy
- Daily Bias: Bullish (previous day bullish PO3 candle)
- 8:15 PM BD: Strong bullish displacement candle on 5M
- FVG Created: 1.0882 - 1.0890 (within the 8:00-9:00 PM window)
- Entry: Buy limit at 1.0886 (CE)
- Stop: 1.0875 (below displacement swing low)
- Target: 1.0930 (BSL)
- R:R: 1:4
Example 2: London Silver Bullet — Gold Sell
- Daily Bias: Bearish (price in premium, SSL draw at 2,020)
- 1:20 PM BD: Bearish displacement on 5M during London window
- FVG Created: 2,044 - 2,038
- Entry: Sell limit at 2,041 (CE)
- Stop: 2,048
- Target: 2,020
- R:R: 1:3
Why Silver Bullet Works
- Algorithmic timing — The IPDA creates moves at predictable times
- Volume confluence — These windows align with institutional order flow
- Reduced noise — Narrow time window = fewer false signals
- Mechanical approach — Clear rules reduce emotional decisions
Common Mistakes
❌ No daily bias — Silver Bullet without bias = random FVG trading
❌ Trading FVGs outside the window — Timing is the edge. FVGs at 9:30 AM EST are NOT Silver Bullet
❌ Taking multiple Silver Bullets — One per session maximum
❌ Forcing trades — If no FVG forms in the window, accept No Trade
❌ Ignoring displacement quality — The FVG must form from strong displacement, not a slow drift
Summary
| Window | BD Time | Best Pairs | Typical R:R |
|---|---|---|---|
| London SB | 1:00 - 2:00 PM | EUR, GBP, Gold | 1:3-5 |
| NY AM SB | 8:00 - 9:00 PM | All majors | 1:3-5 |
| NY PM SB | 12:00 - 1:00 AM | USD, indices | 1:2-4 |
