ICT Venom Model
Master the ICT Venom Model — an advanced execution model that uses the aggressive displacement after a liquidity sweep to enter with maximum precision and minimal risk.
What is the Venom Model?
The Venom Model is an advanced ICT execution model focused on entering immediately after a liquidity sweep when price creates aggressive displacement. The "venom" refers to the deadly precision of the entry — strike fast, one shot.
The Venom Model is about catching the exact moment smart money deploys capital after sweeping liquidity. It's a surgical entry with very tight stops and explosive R:R potential.
Venom Model Setup
The Sequence
- Liquidity Target — Identify BSL or SSL that will be swept
- Sweep — Price takes out the liquidity during a Kill Zone
- Displacement — Aggressive reversal candle(s) immediately after the sweep
- FVG + OB — The displacement creates both an FVG and an OB
- Entry — Enter at the FVG (CE) or OB on the FIRST retracement
- Stop — Tight, beyond the sweep extreme
- Target — Opposing liquidity pool
What Makes It "Venom"
- The entry is on the FIRST candle that retraces into the FVG/OB
- No waiting for multiple retracements
- The speed and aggression of the displacement = the "venom"
- One decisive entry, no scaling in
Real Examples
Example 1: Bullish Venom — Gold
- SSL Target: Equal lows at 2,020
- Kill Zone: London (1:15 PM BD)
- Sweep: Price drops to 2,016 (sweeps SSL)
- Displacement: Massive bullish candle 2,016 → 2,032 (FVG at 2,022-2,028, OB at 2,020)
- 1M Entry: Price dips to 2,025 (FVG CE) — enter buy
- Stop: 2,015 (below sweep)
- Target: 2,060 (BSL above)
- R:R: 1:3.5
- Key: First touch of the FVG = Venom entry
Example 2: Bearish Venom — EUR/USD
- BSL Target: PDH at 1.0940
- Kill Zone: NY AM (6:00 PM BD)
- Sweep: Price spikes to 1.0948 (sweeps BSL)
- Displacement: 3 bearish candles create FVG at 1.0935-1.0928
- Entry: Sell at 1.0932 (CE of FVG)
- Stop: 1.0950
- Target: 1.0870
- R:R: 1:3.4
Venom vs Other Models
| Model | Key Feature | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Venom | Immediate post-sweep entry | First retracement |
| Unicorn | Breaker + FVG overlap | Delayed retracement |
| Silver Bullet | Time-specific FVG | Within SB window |
| Standard OB | Any OB entry | Multiple retracement OK |
Common Mistakes
❌ Entering during the sweep — Wait for displacement AFTER the sweep, not during
❌ No Kill Zone timing — Venom without session context = unreliable
❌ Chasing the displacement — Enter on the RETRACEMENT to FVG, not mid-displacement
❌ Too wide stops — Venom is about TIGHT stops. If your stop needs to be huge, it's not Venom
