Confirmation Techniques — Complete Guide
Master trade confirmation: candlestick, structural, volume, and multi-timeframe confirmation methods for high-probability entries.
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is additional evidence validating your trade idea before entry. It separates high-probability trades from gambles.
Confirmation Types
1. Candlestick Confirmation
- Bullish: Engulfing, Hammer, Morning Star, Inside Bar break up
- Bearish: Engulfing, Shooting Star, Evening Star, Inside Bar break down
- Wait for candle CLOSE — wicks can deceive
2. Structural Confirmation (LTF)
At HTF zone, drop to LTF and look for:
- CHOCH toward your trade direction
- BOS confirming momentum shift
- LTF Order Block respect
Example:
H4 zone reached → M15 shows bullish CHOCH → CONFIRMED
3. Volume Confirmation
- High-volume rejection = strong
- High-volume breakout = real
- Low-volume break = likely fakeout
4. Multi-Timeframe Confirmation
Strongest: All timeframes agree
D1: Bullish ✓
H4: At key level ✓
H1: CHOCH forming ✓
M15: Entry pattern ✓
= MAXIMUM CONFIDENCE
Rules
- Never enter without at least 1 confirmation (2 preferred)
- HTF confirmation > LTF confirmation
- Structural > Candlestick
- Volume confirms conviction
- Patience — wait even if it means missing moves
- False confirmations exist — always use stops
